Does Kajabi® Take a Percentage of Sales? Fees Explained for 2026

Kajabi® pricing can be confusing because there are several different fee layers.

There is the monthly Kajabi® subscription.

There are payment-processing fees from Kajabi® Payments, Stripe, PayPal, or another processor.

And, on current new Kajabi® plans, there can be an additional Kajabi® third-party payment-provider fee if you process transactions through a qualifying third-party payment provider instead of Kajabi® Payments.

This guide explains the difference, so you can estimate what actually comes out of a sale before you choose a Kajabi® plan or payment setup.

Does Kajabi® take a percentage of sales? The short answer

Kajabi® does not use a simple blanket revenue-share model where it takes the same percentage from every sale.

But that does not mean every sale is fee-free.

In 2026, sellers need to separate three things:

  1. Kajabi®’s monthly subscription fee
  2. Payment-processing fees charged when a customer pays
  3. Kajabi®’s third-party payment-provider fee, where it applies

If you use Kajabi® Payments, Kajabi® charges payment-processing fees for successful transactions. Those fees vary by country and can vary by plan.

If you use a qualifying third-party payment provider connected directly to Kajabi® instead of Kajabi® Payments, Kajabi® says an additional third-party payment-provider fee can apply.

Kajabi® states that this fee does not apply to PayPal transactions and does not apply where Kajabi® Payments is unavailable.

So the accurate answer is: Kajabi® does not simply take a cut of every sale, but transaction-related fees can still reduce the amount you keep.

The three Kajabi®-related fees to understand

Before comparing payment setups, it helps to separate the fees that often get grouped together.

Kajabi® subscription fee

This is the monthly or annual fee you pay for your Kajabi® plan.

It covers access to the platform: website, landing pages, products, email marketing, checkout, automations, and other plan features.

This is not deducted from each sale. It is your platform cost.

For the broader plan-by-plan cost comparison, see the full Kajabi® pricing guide:

Kajabi® pricing guide

Payment-processing fee

This is the fee charged when a customer pays by card, bank debit, PayPal, buy-now-pay-later, or another payment method.

Payment-processing fees are separate from your Kajabi® subscription.

They can come through Kajabi® Payments, Stripe, PayPal, or another provider.

These fees vary by country, payment method, card type, and provider. Do not assume a U.S. rate applies globally.

Kajabi® third-party payment-provider fee

This is the additional Kajabi® fee that can apply on current new plans when transactions are processed through a qualifying third-party payment provider connected directly to Kajabi®, rather than through Kajabi® Payments.

This is the fee most people mean when they ask whether Kajabi® takes a percentage of sales.

It is not a blanket percentage on every sale. It depends on your plan, country, and payment setup.

Kajabi®’s third-party payment-provider fees in 2026

Kajabi®’s current plan information lists the following third-party payment-provider fees for applicable new plans:

Basic

2%

Third-party payment-provider fee

Growth

1%

Third-party payment-provider fee

Pro

0.5%

Third-party payment-provider fee

This fee is separate from the payment processor’s own fees.

That means if you process transactions through a qualifying third-party payment provider, the total cost of a transaction may include:

  1. The processor’s own payment fee
  2. Kajabi®’s third-party payment-provider fee
  3. Any additional country, currency, dispute, tax, invoice, subscription, or payment-method fees that apply

Kajabi®’s Help Center describes this fee as applying when transactions are processed through a qualifying third-party payment provider connected directly to the account, rather than through Kajabi® Payments.

Kajabi® also states that PayPal is not subject to this third-party payment-provider fee.

Kajabi® states that the fee applies only in countries where Kajabi® Payments is available. If Kajabi® Payments is not offered in your country, Kajabi® says no third-party transaction fee is charged.

If you are on a legacy or transition plan, do not assume these rates apply to you. Check Kajabi®’s current pricing materials and your own Account Settings > Billing area for the plan terms attached to your account.

What if you use Kajabi® Payments?

Kajabi® Payments is Kajabi®’s own payment processing option.

If you use Kajabi® Payments, the relevant cost is a payment-processing fee, not a separate revenue-share fee.

Kajabi®’s official pricing page lists current U.S. new-plan Kajabi® Payments card processing fees for U.S. entities as Basic: 2.9% + $0.30 USD, Growth: 2.8% + $0.30 USD, and Pro: 2.7% + $0.30 USD.

Those are not global rates. Kajabi® says the rates shown on its pricing page are for U.S.-based entities only, and Kajabi® Payments fees vary by country.

Kajabi® Payments is currently documented as available to businesses registered in Australia, Canada, select European countries, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Kajabi®’s fee documentation also lists other possible charges, including fees for international cards, currency conversion, disputes, subscriptions and payment plans, buy-now-pay-later methods, sales tax services, invoicing, manually entered cards, ACH, and instant payouts.

If you are outside the United States, review the fee schedule for the country in which your business is registered before estimating your margin.

What if you use Stripe?

Stripe can be part of a Kajabi® payment setup, but the exact cost depends on how your account is configured and where your business is registered.

If transactions are processed through a qualifying third-party payment provider such as Stripe connected directly to Kajabi®, Kajabi® says its third-party payment-provider fee can apply on applicable plans, in addition to the provider’s own fees.

Kajabi®’s Help Center directs users to Kajabi®’s current pricing page for the current plan-based third-party provider rates.

Do not assume Stripe’s fees are included in your Kajabi® subscription.

Do not assume Stripe’s fees are the same in every country.

Do not assume a Stripe setup avoids Kajabi®’s third-party payment-provider fee unless Kajabi®’s current documentation or your account billing settings confirm that it does.

What if you use PayPal?

Kajabi®’s Help Center states that PayPal is not subject to Kajabi®’s third-party payment processing fee.

That does not mean PayPal payments are free.

PayPal still has its own processing fees, and those fees can vary by country, currency, account type, transaction type, and customer location.

For PayPal, the practical question is not whether Kajabi® adds the same third-party card-provider fee. Kajabi® says it does not.

The practical question is what PayPal itself will charge for the type of sale you are making.

Other fees that can affect the true cost of a sale

The headline processing rate is not always the full cost.

Depending on your country, processor, payment method, and Kajabi® setup, other charges can affect what you keep.

Subscriptions and payment plans

Kajabi®’s U.S. Kajabi® Payments documentation lists an additional fee for subscriptions and payment plans.

If you sell memberships, payment plans, or recurring offers, check the country-specific rules for your payment setup.

International cards

International card fees can apply when the customer’s card is issued outside your business’s registered country.

Kajabi®’s U.S. Kajabi® Payments documentation lists an additional international card fee.

Other countries and processors may use different rules.

Currency conversion

Currency conversion fees can apply when a transaction involves a currency conversion.

This can matter if you sell internationally or price in a currency different from your payout currency.

Disputes

Payment disputes and chargebacks can create separate fees.

Kajabi®’s U.S. Kajabi® Payments documentation lists a dispute fee per disputed transaction.

Buy-now-pay-later methods

Afterpay, Klarna, and similar payment methods can carry different fees from ordinary card payments.

Do not treat a buy-now-pay-later sale as if it costs the same as a standard card sale.

Sales tax and invoicing

Kajabi®’s U.S. Kajabi® Payments documentation lists possible fees for Kajabi® Sales Tax and Kajabi® Invoicing.

These may not apply to every seller, but they matter if you use those services.

Refunds

Kajabi®’s U.S. Kajabi® Payments documentation says there is no fee to refund a charge, but fees from the original charge are not returned.

This can affect your net margin if you issue refunds often.

Worked examples

These examples are simplified. They are designed to show the fee logic, not to replace your own account-specific calculation.

Pricing and fee information checked 15 September 2026 against Kajabi®’s published pricing and payment documentation.

Example 1: U.S. Basic-plan Kajabi® Payments $100 card-sale example

Kajabi®’s official pricing page lists the current U.S. new-plan Kajabi® Payments card processing fee for U.S. Basic entities as 2.9% + $0.30 USD. Current U.S. Growth and Pro new-plan card rates are lower at 2.8% + $0.30 USD and 2.7% + $0.30 USD respectively.

On a $100 card sale:

2.9% of $100 = $2.90
Fixed fee = $0.30
Total processing fee = $3.20
Estimated amount before any other applicable fees = $96.80

This example is for U.S.-registered businesses using Kajabi® Payments on Basic. It does not apply globally.

It also does not include possible extra fees for international cards, currency conversion, disputes, subscriptions, payment plans, buy-now-pay-later methods, tax services, invoicing, or refunds.

Example 2: $100 sale using a qualifying third-party payment provider on Basic

Kajabi®’s current plan information lists a 2% third-party payment-provider fee for Basic where that fee applies.

On a $100 sale:

Kajabi® third-party payment-provider fee = $2.00
Amount before the third-party processor’s own fees = $98.00

You would still need to subtract the third-party processor’s own fee.

This is not a full net revenue calculation because Stripe, PayPal, and other payment providers publish their own rates, and those rates vary by country and transaction type.

Example 3: $100 PayPal sale

Kajabi® states that PayPal is not subject to Kajabi®’s third-party payment processing fee.

On a $100 PayPal sale:

Kajabi® third-party payment-provider fee = $0.00
PayPal processing fee = varies

You would need to check PayPal’s current fee schedule for your country and transaction type to estimate the amount you keep.

Does this make Kajabi® expensive?

It depends what you are comparing it with.

Kajabi® can look expensive if you compare only the monthly plan price with a cheaper checkout tool.

It can look more reasonable if it replaces several tools: website, course platform, email marketing, landing pages, checkout, automations, and basic analytics.

The transaction-fee question matters most when your sales volume grows.

A 2% third-party provider fee on a small number of sales may be less important than getting your offer live quickly.

The same 2% fee on high monthly revenue can become a meaningful cost.

That is why the right question is not simply: Does Kajabi® take a percentage?

The better question is: Which Kajabi® plan and payment setup gives you the best total cost for how you sell?

What Is Kajabi®?

How to minimise Kajabi® payment fees

Use Kajabi® Payments where it is available and commercially sensible

Kajabi®’s third-party payment-provider fee is tied to using qualifying third-party payment providers instead of Kajabi® Payments.

If Kajabi® Payments is available in your country, compare its processing fees with the combined cost of your third-party processor plus any Kajabi® third-party provider fee.

Check your country-specific fee schedule

Do not use U.S. payment rates unless your business is registered in the United States.

Kajabi® Payments fees vary by country.

Processor fees also vary by country.

Review your current Kajabi® plan

Kajabi®’s third-party provider fee is plan-based.

Current listed rates are lower on higher-tier plans:

Basic: 2%
Growth: 1%
Pro: 0.5%

If your sales volume is high, the fee difference between plans can matter.

But do not upgrade only because of a percentage. Compare the full monthly cost and the features you actually need.

Watch international and currency fees

If many customers are outside your country, international card and currency conversion fees may affect your margin more than you expect.

Price your offers with these costs in mind.

Be careful with payment plans and subscriptions

Recurring payments and payment plans can involve different fee treatment from one-time payments.

Check the current documentation for your country before choosing a payment structure.

Use PayPal deliberately

Kajabi® says PayPal is not subject to its third-party payment processing fee.

But PayPal still has its own processing fees.

Use it because it helps customers buy, not because it is automatically the cheapest option.

Which Kajabi® payment setup makes sense for you?

If Kajabi® Payments is available in your country

Compare Kajabi® Payments processing fees with the combined cost of your preferred third-party processor plus Kajabi®’s third-party provider fee.

Also compare payout timing, supported payment methods, tax handling, dispute process, and country-specific charges.

If you want to use Stripe directly

Check whether Kajabi®’s third-party payment-provider fee applies to your plan and country.

Then add Stripe’s own processing fees for your country and transaction type.

Kajabi® says the third-party payment-provider fee does not apply if you remain on your current plan rather than migrating to one of the new plans. In that cautious sense, customers who choose not to migrate remain on their legacy plan.

Kajabi® also states that PayPal is not subject to this fee, and that the fee does not apply where Kajabi® Payments is unavailable.

If you want to use PayPal

Kajabi® states that PayPal is not subject to the third-party payment-provider fee.

Still check PayPal’s own fees and consider whether your audience prefers PayPal enough to justify offering it.

If Kajabi® Payments is not available in your country

Kajabi® states that the third-party transaction fee applies only where Kajabi® Payments is available.

If Kajabi® Payments is unavailable where your business is registered, check Kajabi®’s latest documentation and your account settings before estimating fees.

If you are on a legacy or transition plan

Do not rely on a public fee table alone.

Check your Kajabi® Account Settings > Billing area and Kajabi®’s current pricing or transition materials for the terms attached to your account.

Not sure whether Kajabi® is still the right fit?

Transaction fees are only one part of the decision.

Kajabi® may make sense if you want one system for your website, offers, checkout, email, automations, and customer experience.

It may not make sense if you only need a low-cost checkout or already have separate tools you like.
